Solway Sharks have made their first signing this summer with the
announcement that defenceman Josh Grieveson will return to their roster for
the 2018-19 campaign. Icing on a two-way contract with EIHL side Braehead Clan and Martin Grubb’s Dumfries outfit last season, Grieveson featured in nineteen games
for the Sharks, utilising his experience to ensure consistency and strength on
Solway’s blue line. So far in his career the twenty-one-year-old defenceman
has played ice hockey in America, icing with Middlesex Black Bears in the USHS
before joining Dundee Stars in the Elite League in 2016. It was from here that
Grieveson made the switch to Braehead, dividing his time between the Clan and
the Sharks to gain as much ice time as possible. Always reliable, the ‘D’ man is once again expected to employ his strong work ethic when he ices
with Solway in September and, as such, will no doubt make an impact for the Dumfries club in their upcoming campaign.
