Billingham Stars have
this evening announced the signing of forward Callum Davies who, like fellow
returnees Michael Elder and Andy Finn, is set to play a seventh season for the Teesside
club after fulfilling the role of captain in his most recent campaign. Starting
out with Sunderland Arrows in 2003, Davies then switched to Newcastle Vipers’
junior setup before icing for the Northern Stars and subsequently, Billingham. Renowned for achieving far more assists
than goals, Davies found himself the Stars’ third highest points scorer last
season after achieving nine goals and twenty five assists over the course of
Billingham’s league campaign. It is this ability to create offensive opportunities
and to pick out important passes which makes Davies an integral part of the
Stars’ line-up and he will no doubt demonstrate this when he takes to the ice
in September.
