Following last night’s news
that experienced ‘D’ man Josh Grieveson will return to Solway Sharks for
another season, the Dumfries club have today announced that former Blackburn
Hawks’ defenceman Lewis Baldwin will also be patrolling their blue line in September.
Playing his junior ice hockey for Bradford Bulldogs, Baldwin broke into the senior side in their 2015-16 campaign. In the following season,
the youngster then iced in the EPL with Manchester Phoenix, playing in thirty
seven games during which he notched a goal and two assists, besides featuring
for both Sheffield Steeldogs and Blackburn Hawks. It was in this season that
Baldwin impressed for the Lancashire outfit, racking up four goals and four
assists in just six games. Having made an impact in a small space of time, the
young prospect then signed for the Hawks for their 2017-18 season in which he accumulated nine goals
and fifteen assists over the course of thirty four appearances. Expected
to demonstrate his offensive ability as well as his dexterity in defence when he takes to the ice
with the Sharks in their 2018-19 campaign, the industrious defenceman is undoubtedly
an excellent addition to the Sharks’ roster.
